LIMS System Components
Our component based architecture provides your organization with the opportunity to purchase only the software that is required to support your exisiting data management needs. As your needs change with time, Core Informatics can deliver additional components to your system. Here are a few examples of components commonly selected for our systems.
Inventory
Management Systems (IMS):
Sample and container tracking, location audit logs. Know
where everything has been and for how long. Manage stock
supplies and reagents, assign re-order alerts.
We understand the unique challenges (temperature extremes, organic solvents, etc.) of inventory management in the
field. Core Informatics
has hand-picked hardware for their LIMS systems that will
withstand the environmental hazards of working in biotechnology.
Project
Management:
Create and manage project workflows of samples through assays.
Automatically queues samples of interest into secondary
and tertiary screens based upon user defined project criteria.
The included messaging sub-system alerts scientists when
new data is published and samples are queued.
Electronic Document
Management Systems (EDMS):
Associate any electronic file to any object within LIMS.
From raw data to final study reports, our LIMS is a unified
repository for all of the documents required to support
your research.
Lab
Automation & Integration:
Instrument control for liquid handling and
synthesis work stations including Tecan Genesis, Cyclone, Tomtec, etc.
Automated Data Capture & Reduction
Direct integration with your data generating instruments. Custom file parsers and data loaders. Data reduced based upon your assay specific rules and criteria.
Chemistry (Cheminformatics):
State of the art cheminformatics platform including: compound
registration, structure visualization & searching, calculated
properties, in–silico reaction processing, user defined
SAR tables, analytical chemistry integration, QA & QC.
Molecular
Biology/Cell Culture (Bioinformatics):
State of the art bioinformatics platform including: cell
line management and passage tracking, plasmid tracking,
sequence analysis including BLAST searching and integration,
gene expression and proteomics support.
In-Vitro
Data Management (HTS):
Assay data management and automated data collection from
any data generating instrument. Turns raw data files into
fully reduced data in a single process. User validation
allows for QA/QC of all reduced data. A unified data publishing
system alerts scientists immediately when results are available.
Animal Study Managment Systems (ASMS):
Tracks study design and manages workflow for PK, efficacy,
behavioral, and toxicological studies. Tracks measurement
logs, dose logs, and sample collection events. Ties directly
into assay data management system provided by in-vitro biology
component.
Animal
Facility Management Systems (AFMS):
Cage card printing, animal location management and history,
comprehensive record tracking including: arrival, birth,
mating, diet, studies, etc. IACUC protocol management.
Sample Preparation
Automate sample handling steps, reduce transcription errors, track sample usage, custom plate transfer mapping, serial dilution formats
Customized Reporting
Define your own custom report formats for any data type captured in LIMS. Export reports to MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Adobe PDF.
Laboratory SOP Enforcement
Enforce your business rules directly within the system before a sample is registered, screened or queued.
Workflow Management
Implement your project decision criteria to ensure samples of interest are automatically queued for screening in secondary and tertiary screens.
Prioritization Queues
Assess current workload and re-assign priorities for each assay. Identify bottlenecks in project lifecycles.
Lab Automation Integration
Control laboratory instrumentation with custom control file generation in LIMS.
Sample Visualization
User definable visualization of samples for sequence, structures, cell lines, etc.
